In 2021, the EU will decide on the EU agricultural policy 2023-2027, which will then be implemented by national parliaments. The current drafts are neither climate-friendly nor sustainable. Naturefund wants to develop proposals for a new agricultural policy together with partners and citizens in participatory processes. Instead of increasing yields and mass production, where only the food companies profit, we want to increase profits for farming families. How can this be done, what steps do we need to take, where can we find role models? If we succeed in shaping the change process in a participatory way, then a model for political decision-making processes can emerge in which more sustainable decisions are made for society and the future.
In the following, we outline our visions regarding the design of sustainable agriculture.
